Sugarbush Christian Church offers different opportunities to reflect on our everyday lives and faith, and ask big questions without judgment… usually over a cup of tea, coffee, or over a meal.

This is our Ministry of Presence + Welcome:

  • We are an open and affirming congregation - we support LGBTQ+ people and their families as members and leaders in this community.

  • We are part of an anti-racist and pro-reconciling denomination.

  • We support Global Ministries, an ecumenical organization that works with local and global partners for peace, justice, and reconciliation by valuing mutuality - sharing in the vision of partners instead of trying to guide them, and listening instead of lecturing.

  • We respond to natural and human-made disasters in Canada, the United States, and around the world through Week of Compassion.

  • We host a monthly Dinner Church. It’s free and open to all.

  • We co-host One Voice, a weekly singing group at a cafe. It’s free and open to all.

  • We are involved in the community through Chalmers, The Hunger Project Canada, and Disciples’ youth camps.

  • We have a weekly book study (starting in January 2019).

  • and Pastor Awit is available to meet with people at a cafe to talk about life, faith, family, relationships, jobs, school, and everything else that matters.

We are able to provide this Ministry of Presence + Welcome through volunteers and financial donations by individuals and families. We humbly ask for your support. Your generous donation, whatever the amount, can fill someone’s cup and provide a loving presence + welcome to our neighbours.

You can donate securely below, which links to our CanadaHelps charity page. Under “dedication information” you can donate in honour or in memory of someone important in your life, or you can specify where you’d like your donation to go (Global Ministries, Week of Compassion, Dinner Church, youth camps, etc).

Thank you so much!
