Whenever we gather in someone’s home for a meal, we acknowledge our host and their hospitality. In that same spirit, our Plan BE community acknowledges that we live, learn, work, and do ministry on traditional, ceded and unceded lands of Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island.

Individually, we live in cities across southwestern Ontario and beyond but this community has roots in Guelph, Ontario. So, we acknowledge the Attawandaron, Anishnaabeg, Haudenosaunee, and Metis peoples in the Guelph area. The Attawandaron, Anishnaabeg, Haudenosaunee, and Metis peoples have been the stewards of this land and the rivers that run through them for thousands of years - and they still call it home.

As settlers on these lands and waters, we take responsibility for learning about the often violent and racist history between Indigenous peoples and settlers; we acknowledge our own biases, prejudices, and racist attitudes; and we commit to building more respectful, honouring, and loving relationships with Indigenous peoples, this land, and these waters every day.

May it be so. May we be so.
